Creative CityMaking is a partnership between Intermedia Arts and the city of Minneapolis. It fosters collaborations between local artists and City planners to develop fresh and innovative approaches for addressing the long-term transportation, land use, economic, environmental and social issues facing Minneapolis. Creative CityMaking embedded four artists in the City’s CPED-Planning Division. Their collaborative work was showcased throughout the year at citywide community events, culminating in a public exhibition and forum at Intermedia Arts.
The city also embarked on a Historic Capstone Evaluation Project that analyzed the combined findings of historic survey work conducted over the last 10 years. The city planner and artist have worked to develop public engagement around the project.
On October 16 at 6 pm the Creative CityMaking Central Avenue Exhibition opening will be held at Eastside Food Co-op Community Room, 2551 Central Ave. NE. A walking tour will start promptly at 6:15 p.m.
