USO Tour of Minnesota North Stars, 1971
In the wake of the semi-professional Minneapolis Bruins and Millers and the St. Paul Fighting Saints and Rangers the Minnesota North Stars were founded in 1967. The North Stars were one of six expansion teams to the National Hockey League. The above press release promotes the first group of hockey players to make the USO tour. The five North Stars visited military hospitals in Japan, Guam and the Phillipines. Ted Hampson replaced Tom Reid, who was unable to make the trip.
