Proposed Post World War II development for the Parade
A postwar progress committee submitted a wish list to the Minneapolis Park Board. One of the few items on the list that was built was the Parade Stadium. A 17,000 seat lighted football stadium and 2,500 seat baseball park were built in 1951. The planned basketball and ice areas were delayed for a later date of construction.
