Christine Rosholt, 1965-2011
Before I worked in Special Collections I was a Collection Development Librarian. Back in 2006 I was just starting to order music CDs for Minneapolis Public Library.  I had extensive knowledge in some areas of music while I lacked knowledge in some others.  My knowledge about jazz began with Count Basie and ended with Dave Brubeck.  I knew nothing about the local jazz scene.  Thankfully one day Christine Rosholt contacted me and offered to donate some copies of her new CD, Detour Ahead to the library.  It was quite a blessing to get introduced to the local jazz scene and to receive a donation of music CDs in those tight budgetary times.  Christine was always friendly and so patient with us when MPL’s limited staff took months to process and catalog her CDs and get them on the shelf.   I last saw her perform on TPT’s Almanac in September.   Gail Rosenblum wrote about her in the January 10 Star Tribune.
Above is Christine’s junior year photo at Marshall-University High School in 1982, from our yearbook collection.
