Ford Model K
A page out of the Ford Model S and N catalog. No, Lee Iacocca’s Chrysler K Car was not the first! Ford had unveiled it’s Model K in 1906. It was an upscale model (hence the 6 cylinder engine) that replaced the Model B. It was known for it’s high price and low quality. Nine hundred cars were made and production ended in 1908. It price of $3000 would be the equivalent of about $73,000 today. The failure of the B and K Models ensured that Ford would focus on more basic transportation like the Model T for the next two decades.
